When I realized that my skin absorbed what I put onto it, and that all those ingredients meant for external use only, were going internally, I closed all the lids. They were destined for recycling and not for my body. I was then faced with the arduous task of trying to find products I could enjoy and that were not exorbitantly priced. Sadly, there were very few back then. Of the ones I decided to buy, I would grit my teeth and flash my card, however, I was left very disappointed and thinking that natural products were for those who did not mind the all too earthy smells.
Every time I walk down the beauty aisle I shudder, knowing that it’s just a smokescreen. They do little for beauty and certainly nothing for health. There are many people like me out there, who no longer believe the lies. We just want honest, natural, pure, and simple products. Something to delight the senses and aid the body to restore balance. No gimmicks.
What happened to genuine scents? The smell of an intoxicating real rose, the fresh scent of jasmine drifting through the windows in the early morning, the seductive breath of magnolia? This opened the world of pure essential oils. I explored the various combinations together with their benefits. I mixed these combinations and experimented to address my family’s needs. It was like God took me into His garden, hand-picked all the botanicals, and gave me many different posies, each unique and complex.
I watch my daughter delight in mixing ingredients and smiled at the innate, “am I beautiful?” question of her heart. The innocent and unchallenged acceptance of her femininity warms my heart. Let her delight to her heart’s content without the poison.
Part of my journey as a woman was to learn to love, appreciate and care for my body. Indulging in a product that delighted my senses and soothed my mind, was no longer frivolous but part of embracing my femininity and nurturing myself. It is the progression of healing from the cracked facade of idealistic beauty.
These products are the result of Lexi and I delighting in therapeutic products that work, harnessing natural fragrances, mixing them up and thoroughly enjoying the effects. I believe that we have successfully married therapeutics with luxury and are excited to share these with you. My cupboard is full of beautiful products waiting to be showcased.
Scent triggers memories followed by emotions. It is deeply personal and unique. Our desire is to give you these products that embrace those captured moments. It is pure, honest and personal.
